I always thought the 240 was the prettiest of the Zs.
The fill-up to "that looks about the same" concerns me. If you're trying to work out the MPG from a single fill, it would be better to have an actual measurement. Like a dipstick, or if that will mess up the foam in the cell, an inverse dipstick. (E.g., a stick you can hang on the filler neck that ends a specific distance down the neck, but above the foam; just fill until the fuel touches the end.)
Fill errors can give you pretty sizeable swings. Averaging over a lot of fills can help reduce that effect, but if you're trying to get numbers from one or two fills then accuracy on those fills is very important.
Dang, 35 MPG, 300 HP, and a sweet-looking Z. Pretty close to the best of all possible worlds, isn't it?
I'd consider the headlight covers, but mostly because I really like they way they look.
