so far i've put the tyres to 34psi, and stuck £68 worth of fuel in..

And discovered a fuel leak(handily remedied buy actually fitting a jubilee(worm drive)clip to the fillerneck/tank joint)

P&G seems easier as the car can be left in 5th for the pulse..the turbo also provides good torque low down-much like a tdi.

Having had a chance to look at the front, there's plenty of scope for grill blocks etc-but i'm unsure whether to block the intercooler inlet..as i fear heatsoak could be a pain.

Even more worryingly, it appears (according to the manual!) that the 185bhp lump gets better mpg uk combined 32.1 vs 31.7

and the 35bhp boost is easy to gain.

Anyone any idea re the intercooler or any other mods?
