I frickin' LOVE P+G!!!

I was initally sceptical after bad returns on the last polo doing engine off P+G, but this is amazing!

I started it at 380miles into a tank, well into the parachute end of the gauge, and the needle has barely moved 70miles later. My rules are:

*70-57mph glide (that way I'm not slowing up any professionals like lorry drivers restricted to 56mph)
*Not attempting arround Mway junctions/uphills
*clutchless 'blip' re-engage on fifth.

doing a bit of maths and ignoring the load increases.

normally cruise rpm = 2750rpm = 11000squirts/min
glide rpm = 1000rpm = 4000squirts per min
= 63% reduction in fuel during glide!

for acceleration I'm using the same throttle position that sustains the 'normal' cruise speed, and as my ULTRA simple fuel system is 2D (throttle pos v's rpm) rather than 3D (throttle v's rpm v's load) it means i'm not burning any extra above and beyond the cruise fuel I would have used! (...............I think). and thanks to the big torque in a little car the pulse sections are amazingly short!

I can't wait to attempt this on a full tank!
