Funny how most of those complaints are a pretty good echo of what was said about hybrid cars a decade ago, and I can't remember ever seeing a broken down Prius sitting on the shoulder of the road.
But I would quarrel with one statement:

Because there are people who take their half-empty SUVs into the wilds of Nevada (despite the "Next Gas 1xx Miles" signs at the edge of town), and run out.
