They don't slide around constantly while the tires are spinning. They just get off-center and that's it. They don't make noise or eat the rims (my rims are aluminum, the pans are aluminum, albethey different alloys). The pans are about .5 mm thick, for those who might be interested. It wouldn't take much to dent or put a hole in them (but they are not like foil, don't worry)
@tiger: Thanks, I think you're right - they have a different (visual) effect on my truck as they would on another vehicle.
