Do you mean play as in sliding around on the rims? The way that they are held on now leaves about 1 inch back or forth, which is why I need studs or divots or something to keep them centered and nested in the rim.

yes, you do need something to hold them, that movement will make a lot of noise and eat up the rims.

Usually, I think pizza pans on the rims looks terrible, but the MJ actually carries the look quite well! I like it.

They don't slide around constantly while the tires are spinning. They just get off-center and that's it. They don't make noise or eat the rims (my rims are aluminum, the pans are aluminum, albethey different alloys). The pans are about .5 mm thick, for those who might be interested. It wouldn't take much to dent or put a hole in them (but they are not like foil, don't worry)

@tiger: Thanks, I think you're right - they have a different (visual) effect on my truck as they would on another vehicle.

Well, after quite a hiatus on this project, I think I may start up now that I have coroplast. Thank you election. Let's see what I have...

4x4 - 18
4x6 - 3
4x8 - 7

Think I have enough?

I was actually surprised how quickly they took down the signs around here. I went out on the night after the election, and most of the signs up were promoting one candidate... I guess he is the one who won. Next year I'm going to go out the very night of the election.

First use? I'm thinking airdam.

On a side note, all the rails I had welded on were not braced in triangles. They were able to wiggle back and forth... they were working their way loose, so I pulled them off before they decided to take the escape chute (otherwise known as the underside of my truck with some fragile things including tires).

Speaking of tires, my new ones take the front of the jeep down at least 1 inch.

Here's the airdam take two. No supports behind it, although I suspect I will need about 2. No testing as of yet, but I have plenty of highway driving in my near future.

On a side note, this has nothing to do with aerodynamics, but check your tires' alignment! I adjusted mine to almost 0 toe-in, and I felt a significant drop in RR.

It is going to need significant reinforcement to hold it's shape. Probably about one per linear foot and something at the bottom edge.

I like your truck, but four wheel drive and no off road utility with your current wind dam.

My truck is actually not 4WD at all. Just a regular ol' 2WD RWD pickup.

Last night I put on the reinforcement: (the bar is higher than it looks in the pic)

I think I put it too low to the ground because while driving around today (including some minor off-roading in the form of a street under construction) it got bent back. Oh well, it isn't too hard to raise.

I really like the utility look of the Jeep pickup. If I could find one with a diesel 4wd?? Did you use square tubing on your air dam?
