The actual XFI I believe is lighter than the other models. I've never seen anything specifically stating what contributes to it. As for the engine differences you can install the XFI camshaft (or get yours reground to XFI specs). The tranny also has different gearing, but going with the 4 cylinder trans is the best (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that one) for mileage.
