I was told that each degree of advance moves the torque curve down ~100 rpm. Is this not right?

I was poking around on other forums and found the 1200 rpm statement for my engine. I have no idea which forum it was. I know it is nowhere near 2000 rpm.
I run out of torque fairly quickly compared to what I used to have before the timing change.
