Frank,
That's right. Eliminate.
Picture a day when, if a driver is drunk, the car won't let them drive. Imagine that this technology is reliable, voluntary, and cheaper than the break you will get on your car insurance for having it on your car.
Best of all, imagine that almost 12,000 people are alive and 400,000 are uninjured each year who would normally have been impacted by drunk driving.
The beginning of that day is here. The bipartisan bill launched by Senators Udall and Corker yesterday provides $12 million each year to fund the government's portion of research into advanced technology. Automakers are also putting up money for this research.
This research, if funded, is aimed at having a prototype of these technologies ready by 2013 and building from there. This is the technology that could eliminate drunk driving.
You can make a huge difference in two ways:
We need your help to get senators to support this legislation. You can email your senators in two minutes here.
We need your financial support. Your $18 per month -- less than a dollar a day -- can provide a day of training to a public policy volunteer to help them advocate for this and other anti-drunk driving legislation.
We'd appreciate your voice and any support you can give. Together, we can eliminate drunk driving -- we really can.
Thank you for your help,
Laura Dean-Mooney

Thought I was exaggerating when I said they will stop at nothing less than "ZERO" huh...
Note how the projected numbers of lives saved is ever-changing... so far it's been 12000, 9000, 8000, and 7000...
