That is great! I love the cardboard over the engine treatment. The hood insulation is a great idea. I am thinking about making an entire engine blanket out of that hood fiberglass insulation. What if the engine compartment could have most free areas filled with fire proof insulation allowing for air space by the exhaust and throught the radiator. It would be like hot water tank insulation! The engine would then only cool itself through the radiator and heater core. Of coures make it removable for driving in very hot weather.
The car would be quieter inside and perhaps the engine would stay warm for many hours after it is shut down. Hmmmm I think I will need to try this on my Edsel. Now where to find fire resistant insulation??? Formula413, I think I will need a lot of Firebird hood pads to try an experiment.
