First off, thanks for asking this question Nubb, this is the reason I joined this web site to see if I could use any tips from some of the best on here. I own a 2001 Ford F250 Power stroke 4X4 crew cab, chipped, 6637 air filter and 4" exhaust. I get on average 14/15 MPG and straight HW driving I get 16/17 and always looking to get better MPG. My chip has a 50,70,90 and 120 settings, it make very little difference what setting I use MPG very by less than .5 of a mile.
I was laid off my job last year and did have a MB 300SD diesel that got 25/30 depending on weather. But had to sell due to money getting tight. So now this is my only means of driving. Unlike your Dodge my truck gets better MPG at 78mpg VS 70 or less, even when towing. I have a note book full of mileage records, so this is not a fluke. I have talked to other PS owners and hear the same thing for MPG at HW speeds.
So I am all up on looking for different ideas to up my mileage.
Thanks for a great web site and all the great post.
Doc.
