I just had my best tank to date (40.6 US mpg) and this next tank stands to be even better. The primary reason on the last tank was finally getting comfortable with EOC'ing, thus having my car off for anywhere from 8.5-14 miles of my 26.3 mile commute. The high end was last week when I had an amazing tail wind (probably close to 40mph) on the way to work and it stopped before I had to go home.

This weekend we did a 2.5 hour drive to Glenwood Springs and 2.5 hours back. My outbound mpg was 47.7 according to my scangauge and the return leg was 44mpg. With that start on the work week and over a half tank left, I suspect I might have a chance to stretch it to a new tank distance record, maybe even hit the 500 mile mark.

Overall, we're starting with a relatively mild winter. While temps in November dropped, they're getting back up into the 50F range this week. I also garage my car in a 55F garage, gravity drop about 8 miles with only one or two 5 second accelerations, otherwise it's all EOC now. I suspect once the roads start icing up as we get our real winter, I'll be forced to leave the engine running for functioning ABS and my mileage will subsequently drop into the mid-30s. Considering last year I was averaging 27-28mpg in the winter, I have no room to complain.
