This is old news for those who have been watching and listening. Say what you want about him, but Glenn Beck has been talking about this and food price inflation for a long time now and the mainstream media is just now catching up to it. It's part of the reason that I bought my 2 Metros as a hedge against fuel cost inflation and why I am starting a garden in my back yard this spring. If I wasn't poor I would also work on my dream of going off the grid and running my house off of solar power to further hedge against the inevitable rise in energy prices. I could then build one of the Metros as an electric car and charge it off the sun. I'll also be selling off my 2 musclecars soon since I can no longer afford to drive them and fear they will lose their value and I will be left with nothing. For food, I am expecting to have to learn to hunt and fish soon as I will not be able to afford to eat otherwise. Maybe I am overstating it ( I hope I am!) but I don't think anyone really realizes just how bad it is about to get.

(Note: the car sees 100% city driving and is EPA rated at 37 mpg city)
