I've got both an ultragauge and scangauge so I can speak on behalf of those two:

If price is absolutely no concern, I think the Scangauge just barely eeks out for reasons listed above. And because it's endlessly programmable.

The ultragauge however, has a much better screen. It is much easier to work with (just plug it in), comes with a mount, and is half the price. Unless one needs the SG programmable extras (I don't), I can't recommend it.

I've actually been considering selling my scangauge and buying an ultra for the few bucks profit I'll make. It's been such a dedicated tool though, it's like selling a perfectly good socket wrench.
