Stovie, Thanks for the info. Do you have any milage data for your vehicle? I see you only put a few onces of acetone in your fuel, so it can't have to much fuel value.
The report you indicated speaks of the viscosity of the fuel, which i think speaks to the quality of the refineing of the fuel. (if the fuel is refined fully then there should be complete burn. There is a point in refining that it becomes unprofitable to continue refineing further. This also depends on the quality of the machine burning the fuel). I also believe that every dispensing site or station has different quality of fuel. How long has the fuel been sitting there, what temperature is it. How far has it been transported to the site. How much contamination has occurred, moisture, dirt particles, etc. If oil has to be refined how long does it take to revert back to its' natural state.
There are many factors impacting fuel milage.I agree with the point that gas has a finite amount of btu. I believe the difference is in the refineing, delivery and the dispensing of fuel and the atmospheric conditions present in the burning of the fuel, and the quality of the machine consuming the fuel.
I speak of quality of refining because of the different "grades" of fuel. If all gas was equal then why do we need "grades of fuel".
Acetone must have a diluting effect so fuel expands thus extending the fuel. I think the magnet has a similar effect. I think the magnet is unique in that it won't increase the btu value of fuel, but treat it so it becomes more in its' natural state. I think the only way a magnet will increase milage is if there is a regulating device such as a ECU to sense the change and adjust fuel flow accordingly. Older cars without ECUs will not increase in milage, but will benefit from cleaner burning fuel and less emmissions. Newer cars with ECUS will have a varying benefit depending on make and quality of ECU.
My milage has maintained its' level for over two years with the magnets on both vehicles, so I believe they are benefical.
