Even up to a MPG over several thousand miles could easily be contributed to driving variation. The last time I had a significant change was when I changed my timing belt and for some reason I lost fuel mileage. I've checked and rechecked the timing marks and the ignition timing and everything is dead on, but I lost several MPG.
