The movers and shakers, meh, it also benefits the guys drilling the stuff, the engineers designing the systems, the support staff for the crews, the pilots who fly them around, the drivers that haul gear north. It also benefits all the people those individuals hire and buy from. In a resource heavy state like AK it also benefits everyone in the state as it is corporations (well the people who buy from the corporations) who pay the state tax, as well as the state collecting money on every gallon shipped out. That is an easy sell.

That oil belongs to me and the rest of the citizens of AK. Not exactly the set up I would have chosen but it is the way it is. It would not even be a national issue but the fedgod has marked the map as theirs.
