Hi

Hi.
It is strange how I stumbled upon this site. I started by googling tesla turbine motors in my novice and floundering quest to find high rpm devices that might be able to directly power a centrifugal turbo charger.* Eventually, after some hours of branching off to other subjects, I got arrived here.
I am probably not a typical ecomodder. I am interested in efficiency gains and saving money, but the sound of an enormous fuel sucking V8 engine is music to my ears . I am interested in neck snapping acceleration, but not all out speed. However I am able to enjoy neither with my 2000 Corolla. I am interested in learning from this community, and contributing when possible.
I believe that humans are capable of producing far more efficient cars in the future, but I want to know about it now! I have aspirations of creating a quick hybrid out of a junk prius or insight.
If you read some or all of this, thanks.

*Why would I want to do this? Trying to find a way to power a centrifugal compressor independently of the engine. Very similar to the Thomas Knight electric air compressor that produces smaller PSI for a small amount of time.
Here is his site, complete with his own spin on the subject: http://www.boosthead.com/faq.php
