Good news So it seems to be true that VW (and Audi) started to comply to OBD earlier than necessary.

Idle consumption looks OK, Euromodder and I both have the same engine (1.6HDi) and we both see idle consumption around 0.5 l/h.

You will have to calibrate the SGII at each fill-up, after a while it should be close its target. If not, you may try the trick with engine displacement reduction. Take into account that the ScanGauge is harder to calibrate with a diesel than with a gasser.
