The green machine - '94 Geo Metro

in all seriousness i am trying. I had the block bored 40 over put in pistons and total seal rings. installed bronze guides and stainless valves, put in the 4 cylinder fly wheel and clutch kit had the crank turned 20 and the front pulley to the pressure plate all balanced together. I have set all specs basically at stock right now and advanced the timing 5 degrees a few days ago to see what timing would do a few more each tank. I'm running the cheap fuel with 1o% alcohol in it which cant help. I also raised the compression to about 11.5 or so and cut those sining or what ever he is called grooves in the head i read on here. My best is 42 mpg so far but i seem to fall in the 38 all the time. this is not my first geo i have had way to many and even a brand new one in 1990 which i just got rid of a while back. I thought i checked my gas mileage before and got better but now i'm starting to think that keeping a log book is showing me the real deal of about 40 when i thought it was about 50mpg. this week I'm going to tape off the grill and remove the mirrors. Also i just switched to atf with prolong additive in the trans axle to make that as thin as possible and i have a5 something synthetic in the engine. plus i installed the teen speed bike shifter for a throttle on my gear shifter and a kill switch for the injector/cam sensor. Its even a green metro color, if red makes them faster green should make them more efficient.
It has to be a lot in the driving technique and i honestly have not even started reading on the hyper mile aging or what ever its being called. I do try and drive 50 to 55 all the time as well.
what is a good timing setting and i have read lots about cam changes etc and cam gear changes but no one has said that i have read this is for sure the way to go.
on a positive note i just bought a electric geo and will have it this week i hope with all new batteries so i can be disappointed with range and top speed instead of mpg.

next mod cut hole in floor to help push with both feet.
