Hello -
My car got stuck in traffic today. I had the engine off at a stoplight to save gas. As the cross-light went yellow, I turned the ignition. There was no sound of the starter turning over. I set the emergency lights, got out of the car, and pulled the big 30 Amp "IGN" fuse in the fuse box in the engine bay. The fuse was good so I put it back in. After that the starter turned over and has been fine ever since. This makes me think it could be a wiring or ignition key/lock assembly problem. Maybe rats nibbled the wiring (it's happened before). It was as if I had not depressed the clutch, so maybe the clutch ignition safety circuit is failing.
I'm taking it for service on Friday, so hopefully they will find something wrong that they can fix. If they can't find anything wrong, then I will worry about turning off the engine at lights.
