Follow up
The trip went uneventfully well. I was hoping for 20 mpg but not expecting it. My EPA numbers (4WD 4.7L Tundra) are 14 city, 17 highway. I was pleasantly surprised with an overall average of 20.5 mpg.
BTW, I didn't bother removing mirrors from the bike, so it poked a foot above the cab and the tailgate was down. I considered flattening both tires, which might have bought just enough clearance to latch the tailgate. I decided it wasn't worth the risk of pinched inner tubes. (KISS)
Life is good.
