something to think about if you have a 904 or 727 torqueflite tranny in your chrysler/dodge/plymouth...

previous to 1966, the torqueflite trans had two pumps, a front and a rear oil pump integrated into the rear of the trans. It was done for the specific purpose of preventing failures while being towed.

if you can find a good pre-66 torqueflite to rebuild, you could rebuild one of those and replace your later model 904 or 727 trans, and you'd be free to engine off coast to your hearts content.
