The schematic shown on that data sheet link is for the interface, not the actual VLA500 module circuit.

For those interested in the VLA500 modules, Powerex is not the manufacture of them. A company called “Isahaya Electronics” (Hybrid IC�FIGBT driver series) makes them for Powerex.
