If you don't do the norm things the norm things don't apply to you, for example I don't drive when there are many if any other vehicles on the road. My environment is safer because of behavior and where I live, perhaps you should try living in my universe or perhaps Franks for a while so you aren't in constant fear of smacking into things.
Drive differently and your world will change.
