There are two reasons why I'm skeptical of heavy towing with Metros:

One is, as noted, the towed pushes the tow-er around. Not good.

The second is, Metro transmissions are barely strong enough to withstand normal single-occupant commuter duty, much less pull around lots of weight while pumping more than stock horsepower through them. Metros are RARE in the yards around here, so no it is not a matter of running to a yard on Saturday with a few bucks to get another transmission.
