A Rear Spoiler of a New Type that Reduces the Aerodynamic Forces on a Mini-Van

Unfortunately, I don't have a subscription to either publisher, but if you read the two abstracts together, it's clear that an advanced vortex generating design at the back of a minivan has added downforce and reduced drag.

It sounds to me like turbolator tape or any of the various marketed VG designs could possibly help the Cd of a hatchback, SUV, or van--but I'd really like to get my hands on the actual spoiler involved here. Anybody have journal access or Hualei Chen and Inchul Kim on speed-dial?
I'll try to inter library loan the articles from my university if nobody has a subscription or reports on the findings.
