Lethargic is way exaggerated, but the difference could be felt switching from the V50 to the S40.
Having driven my V50 from new, it doesn't feel
wrong though.
By comparison, my own car drives better when cold.

Physically checking them is out of the question.
It was 400 euro in labor alone to clean off the crud and replace a blown seal on 1, so I would rather not go there.
