The grid-tie solar charging car port was actually pretty impressive.

I signed up for the 3-hour extended workshop on Solar Electric Vehicle charging, but the "Living with an Electric Vehicle" presentation took up the first hour of that time, and I had a few other things to do as well, so I caught, at most, HALF of that workshop (which I had to pay for!)

I spoke with the Volt driver who had his car at the Solar car-port. He said that he's been able to get 50 miles on a charge, with careful driving.

I went up to meet Chris Paine after his presentation. I gave him a copy of my BUILD YOUR OWN ELECTRIC CAR: CHEAP instructional DVD. The first thing he said was "Hey, cool t-shirt, where can I get one?". I was wearing my black Open ReVolt t-shirt with the raised fist and thunderbolt. I told him that I put my e-mail in with the DVD, and that if he e-mails me, I'll make sure to get him a t-shirt!

I'm hoping he does!
