Percent FTW. It's Ecomodder, not ecobuyer. I'm in awe of the rigs that are getting huge numbers but I'm proud of the numbers I'm achieving because the factory engineers aren't the ones getting them- those numbers are my own. I don't look at my fuel numbers and say "Yeah... Sticker, baby!"
If life were only about gross fuel consumption I'd have bought a 250cc scooter and faired the hell out of it. Unfortunately I'd freeze to death or hit a tree this winter. In real life I need a wagon, I benefit greatly from AWD and I just adore acceleration. So I'm kind of stuck with a car that I happen to love. I've modded my right foot, tire pressure and ignition usage (I'm looking for time to do a real hardware mod for it, that EOC is awesome) and I'm seeing numbers that are pretty unbelievable.
A Competition? I prefer a drivers' competition: I'll hold my own accomplishments up against other drivers' accomplishments. Let all the factory engineers hold their own competitions and give them credit for all the MPG up to the sticker rating. Everything past that is where we compete.
