I entered the last 2 tanks (I forgot to do it a week ago when I finished the previous), both with moderate 2-up ratio (42% and 25%) and both over 83mpg.
I was kinda surprised about the second, Teresa had clutch problems in the beginning, the weather turned cooler, I even got some rain, and had a bit of 2-up offroad riding (was not really intended, but one must explore unknown ways, am I right? )
They definitely make my average better these days.

I heard a rumor that if the official rank was suddenly based on %-over, a certain forum administrator would receive a "campaign contribution" *wink* *wink*

Percent FTW. It's Ecomodder, not ecobuyer. I'm in awe of the rigs that are getting huge numbers but I'm proud of the numbers I'm achieving because the factory engineers aren't the ones getting them- those numbers are my own. I don't look at my fuel numbers and say "Yeah... Sticker, baby!"

If life were only about gross fuel consumption I'd have bought a 250cc scooter and faired the hell out of it. Unfortunately I'd freeze to death or hit a tree this winter. In real life I need a wagon, I benefit greatly from AWD and I just adore acceleration. So I'm kind of stuck with a car that I happen to love. I've modded my right foot, tire pressure and ignition usage (I'm looking for time to do a real hardware mod for it, that EOC is awesome) and I'm seeing numbers that are pretty unbelievable.

A Competition? I prefer a drivers' competition: I'll hold my own accomplishments up against other drivers' accomplishments. Let all the factory engineers hold their own competitions and give them credit for all the MPG up to the sticker rating. Everything past that is where we compete.

I did both: before buying my first vehicle (yes, the question was this general! I needed something to commute, mostly alone.) I kinda looked up their fuel consumption. I didn't want to feel worse for my footprint than necessary, you know. And I still ended up buying a bigger bike than I originally planned

Tire pressure is always over the factory recommended, kill switch is a given on a motorcycle and I often use it, and I trained my left hand to P&G (using the clutch for hundreds of kms surely makes my grip stronger ) and I always strive to neglect training my right hand on the brake

I filled up. It's enough to raise our team average from 45.99 mpg to 46.09. No change in the ranking, though.

Welcome to the team Pancake. You certainly pull up the team average. And you knocked me off position 7! I can't imagine catching those number right now. Yeow! But my current tank looks to be maybe 62+.

I never though about intra-team competition...

Is someone in diesel team will be able to beat my 3 months MPG ?
It should be rather simple as my last two tanks were rather "bad" (66.09 & 61.86 mpg) and my current one shouldn't be much over 66.6 mpg

Hope some idle diesel cars/drivers will come back to attempt their chance

Have fun,

Denis.
