how much less will purchase price be?
And will it get more than 50 mpg?
And how much is the benefit of not having a battery bank worth?
And how much is having 4 seats/or that cargo capacity worth?
I agree that Ford is a couple decades behind the curve. They had lots and lots of time to compete with Sprint and Metro.

I bet this car will come in at
half the price of a hybrid. If your looking at a lease, that will save over $100 a month. Saving that much money have having a car with great mileage to boot could give cash strapped Americans the freedom to roam once again.
A friend of mine boought the last year of the Metro brand new off the lot in 1999 for less than $9,000 and boy did we have fun with that car! We went to Mt. bike races every weekend. Driving across the state and splitting the gas was so cheap it almost seemed free. We got 45 to 60 mpg fully loaded with 2 bikes on top! With the manual transmission, the power was not bad at all. Gas was about $1.00 at that time and I guess that's why it disapperaed. You could litteraly make a 400 mile day trip on less than $10. It's about time they brough something like that back and I bet it will be fairly quick with the Turbo!
