Jupiter has done a pretty good job of sweeping up high speed objects that might have otherwise flattened us.

It isn't the worst idea in the solar system, sort of like a reverse mortgage though, can we run Jupiter dry right when the sun goes supernova sort of thing

Since there isn't O2 readily available, the transporter would have to be solar powered or fusion or ??? It probably wouldn't be powered by burning hydrogen, but would take noticable energy to strip it off of jupiter and decelerate it so it "descends" toward earths orbit, with a really tricky job on the collection side of things.

Gotta think that there is far more promise in plain old solar, especially if space utensils are an option.
