Yep, "people who are supposed to know". That's a good description of the so-called economic and political experts.
The cost of fuel keeps rising, but that's not inflationary. And the cost of transporting any and all goods raises the price of
everything we buy, but that's not inflation either.
We have a government that has redefined what the word inflation means, (thanks to economists who are the boot-kissers of government policy wonks) and by now they have brainwashed the public (through their toadies, the media) that rising prices are no longer considered inflation. Why?
Because they fear deflation much more than inflation, so unrelenting inflation is the now accepted and approved norm.
They are in denial. Denial is more than a river in Egypt. And if you accept the official propaganda that rising prices are not inflationary, you too are brainwashed.
