Is his car slightly newer? Sometimes 1-2 months newer is enough to a small upgrade which is unnoticeable by the average user (my P307 looks like the pre-lift version, but has newer electrical and software systems). Maybe there is a way to make your Lupo SGII-compatible, like a software upgrade?
