^^ Lots of respect for acknowledging it was probably preventable. Most post-collision drivers egos won't let them admit that. ("It was beyond my control. There was nothing I could do. I didn't see the other car. Etc.")

There are very few true "accidents". Lots of preventable collisions though.

Speaking from experience, most "accidents" can be avoided by situational awareness. ALWAYS watch the traffic around you.
And ALWAYS watch the idiot behind you on the on-ramp. (I usually almost lose sight of them on the ramp and they pass me a few miles later, but there are occasional exceptions.) Use your mirrors (if you haven't deleted them).
