I know this is old school styling and marketing. I have to wonder, how many people back then bought into this?

Is the general public today any more aware or just too skeptical to fall for this sort of gag?

Maybe "gag" is too cruel, the curved greenhouse is much more aero than the boxes of the late 1970's and early 1980's.
