Another vote for teaching anticipation and DWB first. Emphasize how this gets you there at the same speed, except that less fuel is burned. From there, ease into DWL. Once she starts adopting these techniques, mention how her brakes will last almost forever. Save the coastdown stuff for later.

I coast from 40 MPH down to 22-25 MPH for a left turn into work. A speed demon coworker found himself behind me one day. He was under the impression that I had delayed him by a good 30 seconds, then surprised when I went through the math and showed him that he was actually delayed by 4 seconds.
