The motor on the one I am working on is on the cyclone website in my last post. it is a 48V 1200W with integral gearbox, and is enough to take it up hills at 25km/hr. I think it will do more, but it gets dangerously unstable at higher speeds. At present the gearing is all wrong, in the lowest speed gear (biggest sproket on the back wheel) it is geared for 38 km/hr, on the highest it is 77km/hr. So the electric drive is geared to be efficient at speeds it cannot attain.
I have just repaired the rear axel, it had been turning in the bearings and had worn the shaft so that there was 2mm play. Now I need to sort the gearing out.
