I know mudflaps do hurt a little, but they also help save the paint. Eventually I hope to boattail these so they help instead of hurt.
Well, the test run to Edmonton was a bust. The trip up (heading North) there was a NW wind (worst possible direction) of 12mph/gusting to 25mph. I was driving 60-63mph and down to 50 for the last few miles in Edmonton and just barely managed 30mpg. There was no wind on the return trip though and I still was only showing 32.9mpg on the SG. There were just too many variables to draw any accurate conclusions, but indications are that it made no improvement over the partial rear pan that I had made last summer and maybe no better than no rear pan at all. Last trip to Edmonton I had a light SE wind both ways, the rear pan was off and I avg'd 32.7mpg round trip. Anyway, I need some more highway time to see for sure and I probably won't get it for a while now. I am wondering, though, if I should had ended the pan at the bottom edge of the bumper cover.
