Last May, the tail winds out of flaggstaff AZ (I-40 thru the high plains) were pretty strong.
But this last week (on I -10/20 thru Pheonix Az), the tail winds were hardly noticeable.

THe avalon is a V6 (I had an 97 Avalon prior to the Q.) the Q is a V8.

Is the bmmer a stright 6? I would think that one advantage the 02Q has (it changed in 03) is a 2.76 rear axle ratio. I constantly thank the Man upstairs for that nice starting point!!!!

I have some dear freinds who vaction in Yuma. I plan on stopping there on my way back.

DAve, I realize that I don't keep a lifetime log.......(bad me) but I drive pretty eco-freinfly all the time. My rational is that since I do so much hwy driving, I focus on the 'big stuff' and let the little stuff fall into place.
I work from home so I don't have a 'daily commute' .
We all have different motivations and guiding lights.......my obsesive focus happens to be on the highway end of things.
