Guys, the C151 95-00 Tercel tranny should bolt in and have OBD 2 sensor fittings for passive cylinder balance measurement (part of OBD2 diagnostics- sensor counts flywheel ring gear teeth for comparison of cylinder forces).

With 24 inch diameter tires that's 840 revolutions per mile.
Works out to 1983 RPM at 60 MPH.
Same ratio as the European diesel Yaris.
You can probably pick up one of those trannies at a U-pull salvage yard cheap. Even if you have to swap the cases and transfer the guts it is fairly easy.
Might have to pick up a whacked Echo cheap. That ought to give you 55 MPG highway at 60 with no hypermiling.
