If you have lowered the car then larger tyres may hit something ? Not sure, but I have read about kids fitting 15s to their cars and having issues.

EDIT - it may have been 16s with wide tyres...

Also not convinced gearing is going to solve the FE at speed balance - you still have to push the throttle to maintain speed and in a higher gear the push is for longer.

I've started using a version of "LOG" without the "engine off" part. Will see how this goes.
