My "coast to coast" trip only gave me 54 on the trip out and 53 on the way back - I had time constraints so had to do 65-75 more or less all the way each way without much hypermiling. George is happy at 65+ and the noise levels at those speeds are low for a car this small.

Conclusion - this is just another fillup which is pretty much average for George, nothing special.

However I have 3 bars (out of 7) left on the fuel gauge, and I'm over 350 miles, which is further than I have been before.

Very very confused.

And looking at my fuel log I wasn't hypermiling when I got him (to get a kind of baseline) but I got better MPG than when I "try".

Hmmm.

*(goes off to study the videos thread more closely).

Another positive - got next year's insurance at 1/2 the cost of the Fabia's - a saving of 2 tanks of fuel in cost.
I'm still puzzled although I have had the car for four years. But basically FE is extremely good in speeds below 70 km/h (43mph). Now I try to keep Igor over 60km/h but better than 3.5 l/100km. (37mph and 67mpg). That is, up hill I let fuel consumption increase but otherwise I stay better than 67mpg except for occasional P&G.
I'll continue to work on the aerodynamics. You could try to lower average speed as much as possible -- if you have the patience.

Videos? Where?
