Take it for a test drive and see for yourself. Reviews can be useful but you shouldn't live by what they say. I'm convinced they're all bias. Plus not every car is made the same. they all vary year to year, build cycle to build cycle hell they even vary day to day and that's why some people don't buy cars built on Mondays or Fridays. The matrix is directly comparable to a corolla IMO and the matrix shares the exact same engine in the Pontiac vibe.
