Its great to see the difference between Sentra's and Vekke's techniques. Mine almost perfectly match Vekke's. I did notice the when Vekke was caught by the light near the end of his video it seemed to help him to time the rest of the lights better. Just my opinion.
The top percentage hypermilers will, almost exclusively average much lower speeds than those in Vekke's videos, which will create better numbers over EPA. In my commute my average speed is right at 38-39 MPH and the 44 traffic lights I must negotiate in my 40 mile round trip would make lower speeds an exercise in frustration with the lights and other drivers becoming very frustrated with my obstruction of traffic flow, possibly to the point of real aggravation and reactions on their part.
