I need to make more tests with that gear vs neutral video...
But here is more city driving.
Is the picture angle good or did you like more the headrest position like on the previous videos? Now its on the reverse mirror...
Is this quality good enough? It takes 3 hours to upload that long video with that quality. With full hd it takes over 60 hours and you have to start from the begin many times due to errors...

Its great to see the difference between Sentra's and Vekke's techniques. Mine almost perfectly match Vekke's. I did notice the when Vekke was caught by the light near the end of his video it seemed to help him to time the rest of the lights better. Just my opinion.
The top percentage hypermilers will, almost exclusively average much lower speeds than those in Vekke's videos, which will create better numbers over EPA. In my commute my average speed is right at 38-39 MPH and the 44 traffic lights I must negotiate in my 40 mile round trip would make lower speeds an exercise in frustration with the lights and other drivers becoming very frustrated with my obstruction of traffic flow, possibly to the point of real aggravation and reactions on their part.
Thanks to both Vekke and Sentra for their time and energies spent showing their expertise and techniques.
Also cudos to Vekke on his excellent command of the English language!
regards
Mech

At tdiclub they appreciate those videos so much they made it sticky and people are really starting to test the various technigues.
I have never driven so slow than sentra, so you wont see that kind of videos from me. That is clear to me also that it will give best results I just dont have enough patience.
I would like post the some high speed videos from motorway also but its illegal so cannot manufacture them. I usually drive over the speed limits. There are own techigues to that also, you need to anticipate much earlier what will happen after 20 seconds etc. Same if you are driving heavy truck its more difficult to master perfectly, because situations will come to your eyes quite fast if you dont make your moves in advance...

You're right about that. I drive a heavy truck and quite a bit of it is out on the highway. You have to be thinking and looking a long way ahead. If I'm going 55 mph and I put it in neutral I can coast close to a mile. My "normal" glides from 45 mph down to 28 mph take almost 1 minute.
Thanks for the videos, I'm sure it took quite a lot of work. It also makes me realize how much you CAN'T capture in a video (when you're shifting, how fast you're going, what the road grade is, all those other small things that you're looking ahead for, all the things out of camera view, etc.). I've learned that all those things are important and it's easy to not see those things in the videos.

The video quality seems worse that it was on the previous movies (less light probably ?) but at least this movie is stable enough to watch.
The camera location is where mine is mounted as well.

It took 3 hours to download that and the last long video was over 60 hours. So there is big difference in the quality. Maybe I could make little bit better quality ones next long one. Some traffic lights are little blurry... But on longer videos the download time gets too long with full hd at least with my internet connection.
You should have at least two cameras, one for the gauges and one for the route. Even so it would miss a lot valuable data that matters.

The angle and quality look good - how did you fix it to the mirror ? I note the similar problems you have with pedestrians and other motorists in city driving.
What kind of connection do you have ? I managed to upload a 720 quality video overnight on my ADSL connection - that is the Videos of my commute in my Aygo thread - each is about 30 minutes long.
60 hours is 2.5 days which is at least 6 times as long.
Also (allegedly) Firefox and related browsers will restart if they get paused or drop the connection - this was useful for me as our connection was cut off by rain until recently.

You can debate the quality but to me it works fine and I could just about tell which gears you were in Vekke. Man I would love to get a hold of a car just like yours, 2 liters per hundred KM. We are so stupid in the US to not allow such vehicles here. Also love the start stop after 3 seconds.
Maybe before I die of old age the US will wise up and think about the CO2 levels of that kind of mileage while allowing the slight increase in whatever they think is more important. Universal emissions regulations based on the European standards would fix that.
Stupid Politicians.
Poli=many
tics=blood sucking leaches
Maybe one day I will go to Finland just to drive one of your cars .

I agree on this which is why I try and out the SG2 into view as well, but then I have to use HD so it can be read. One the move my phone shakes a little so its not in clear view - I may try and see if I can anchor it to the mirror to stop the shaking.

Attachement was of course with two relesable zipties . Only problem was that I was not able to tell was the camera on and recording or not. Also camera lining was little bit tricky.
I have this kind of mobile usb stick connection max speed is 3 mb but its not even close where I live and changes every hour. I realized that it will continue the download but there still are errors. I firt deleted a video which was cut after few minutes. Then deleted and started from the beginning. It continued from the place where it last time ended. I was like what the hell. After 2.5 half days later it said download finish. When I tried to watch the video it said user has deleted the video . You can imagine what were my feeling. At the same time internet connection said 20% left of your this months transfer limit...
