Busted. I've tried shiny ice, on a pretty steep downhill. I classified it as impossible after falling and bending the handlebar (not even a scratch on me). I couldn't even turn back, good that I could come down on the frozen grass next to the road. I've totally reached my limits.
So I stayed a few days at my mother's place last week. I wasn't exactly happy about not being able to go home, but ice is ice. I keep on commuting after that ice melted (was caused by sleety fog last Tuesday/Wednesday), the weekend was OK again.
