I have still not made up my mind what I want to do with seats in my project car, while there are plenty of "high end" carbon fiber and even more lighter material seats, they are $$$$ typically when the weight is anywhere "interesting".
For now I have (one) of these seats I just picked up locally for $10 on Craigslist but I don't really think I will keep it in my daily driver (as I plan it to be) (not my pic but some random pic off the web):
Anyway, once you start looking at "acceptable" price range (I mean NO I am not paying $2000 for seats just to save a few dollars on gas!
I am not looking to race the car..) the weight savings aren't really there.
So I have started to look at factory seats from other cars, as a cheaper alternative but it's next into impossible to find any list of weight of factory car seats (plenty of info on BABY car seats!
) any input would be great!
I mean this was of tremendous help when it came to choosing WHEELs for the car:
