Well 150 used to be pretty good - I remember an article in the 80s when a magazine attempted to confirm that an XJ-S HE would do 150 so they took it to Nardo. It managed 150 (152 I think on one run so they declared it a success ) and the article ended with the line "the XJ-S is a mighty car" - but now the top of the line Insignia or Mundano will come pretty close with an engine half the size and getting at least 2-3 times the MPG in normal use. Even a Diesel Audi or (gasp) BMW will get to close to 150 with the dog in the back.

Yeah, but the XJ-S HE is a supercar because it EXCELLED at one thing- SOUND

plus the HE did 8mpg- thats livable

So, would you argue for 170mph as the new "supercar" ballpark?
